Description
No. 9 Kensington Palace Gardens is a substantial house built between 1852 and 1854, designed by S. Smirke. The building is constructed of stucco and features three storeys with dormers. The main block has three bays, with square bay windows flanking the entrance on the ground floor. Above the entrance, there is a continuous balcony supported by Tuscan columns. The first floor windows are designed as three-light units with entablatures and cambered pediments. The house is topped with a crowning cornice and a balustraded parapet, showcasing a free interpretation of classical style. The interior has not been seen.
