Description

The entrance gates to Kensington Palace, likely built in the 18th century and subsequently rebuilt, feature a gateway design. The structure includes a pair of brick gatepiers that have stone bases, a cornice, and panelled fronts. These gatepiers support wrought iron lamp brackets, which hold square lanterns adorned with royal crowns. Above the gatepiers are Coade stone statues of a lion and a unicorn, each holding shields displaying the Hanoverian arms.
