Description
The tombs of Rear-Admiral Thomas Tudor Tucker and Henry St George Tudor Tucker are pedestal tombs dating from around 1850, located in Kensal Green Cemetery. They are made of matching Portland stone and feature trophies, with York stone slabs in front. The southern monument honors Rear-Admiral Thomas Tudor Tucker and includes a sword and wreath at the base, along with an arched, raised inscription panel on the front. At the top, there is a naval trophy consisting of an anchor, flag, cable, and cannon barrel. The northern pedestal commemorates Henry St George Tudor Tucker, who was a cavalry officer and a writer on military history. This monument features a relief of a scroll, quill, wreath, and scales below the inscription panel, with a military trophy on top that includes a busby, sabretache, sabre, cartridge box, and banner. Together, these tombs form an exceptional pair of military monuments.
