Description

No. 16 Young Street is a house built around 1815. It is made of brown brick and has two storeys with dormers. The facade is symmetrical, featuring two segmental bays with two windows each, and a prominent central doorway flanked by recessed pilasters. The building has a stucco basement, a band at the first floor window level, and a small cornice. The square-headed sash windows still have their original glazing bars. There are area railings in front of the property. Notably, the writer W. M. Thackeray lived here from 1846 to 1854, as indicated by a plaque from the London County Council.
