Description

No. 40 Kensington Square is a house built in the early 18th century. It has four storeys and features three windows, constructed of brown brick with red dressings and brick bands. The building has undergone later alterations, including a parapet with small recessed panel decoration, a stuccoed ground floor, and an early Victorian balcony on the first floor with French windows. A plaque from the London County Council notes that Sir John Simon, a pioneer of public health, lived here from 1816 to 1904.
