Outbuilding On South Side Of The Yard, Kingsbury College Clerkenwell Centre

The building is an outbuilding located on the south side of the yard at Kingsway College Clerkenwell Centre, dating from around 1892. It is constructed of yellow brick arranged in Flemish bond, with red brick, render, and stucco dressings, and has a tiled roof. The structure is two storeys high and features a seven-window range. The yard-facing side is almost symmetrical, with six bays; the two outer bays project slightly under gables, while the central bay has paired full dormers. To the right is a staircase bay with a one-window range. There are flat-arched entrances at both ends, and all windows are flat-arched with gauged red brick heads and red brick dressings. The casement windows include mullions and transoms, with the two central first-floor windows recessed under elliptical arches in full dormers that have coped gables and ball finials. The first-floor windows in the left bay and the penultimate right bay feature decorative plaster heads set in an open pedimented gable with a rendered tympanum. Ventilators are located at the ridge. The elevation facing Sans Walk is similar but consists of five bays and includes chimney breasts in the blank bays.
