Description
Number 64 is a terraced house located on Duncan Terrace in Islington, dating from the 18th century, possibly from the 1760s, and was renovated in 1879. The building is constructed of brick covered with stucco that is scored to resemble ashlar on the main facade, and it has a roof made of Welsh slate. It stands three storeys high over a basement and features a two-window range.
There are steps leading up to the entrance, which is flanked by iron railings. The entrance itself has a simple architrave and cornice supported by consoles, along with an overlight and a panelled door. All the windows, including the one in the basement, are flat-arched and have moulded architraves. The ground floor has a cornice with consoles, and the first floor features vermiculated keystones. The building also has a cornice and blocking course, with a dormer in the mansard roof.
An early London County Council plaque commemorates Charles Lamb, who lived here from 1823 to 1827.
