Description

No. 59 Colebrooke Row is an early 18th-century terraced house in Islington. The building is constructed of yellow and brown brick with red brick dressings, topped with a clay tile roof. The arrangement of windows and roofs suggests that it may originally have been two separate houses, or a single house to the north which was later extended to the south. The front of the property consists of a two-window, three-storey section to the west, and a two-storey and dormer section to the south. A flat-arched entrance is found on the west side, complete with a cornice supported by consoles, an overlight, and a panelled door. The windows on the south front are segmental arched, while those on the west are flat arched. A parapet sits above the second floor to the south, and a dormer is visible in the mansard roof. A parapet also features on the west side. The front of the south elevation has been extensively rebuilt.
