Description
Threshers is a pair of houses that now function as shops, dating from the early 18th century. They are constructed of stock brick with red brick dressings and a band at the second floor. The roof is not visible, and No. 30 has a stack to the right, while the other stacks are only retained internally. The buildings are three storeys high with an attic and feature 2/2 and 6/6 sash windows from the 19th century in early exposed and flush sash boxes above 20th-century ground floor shop fronts. There are casement dormers in the attic. No. 30 retains a dog-leg staircase from the ground to the second floor, which has vase and bead balusters, and stick balusters from the second to the attic. The closet rear rooms have corner fireplaces, with the second-floor room featuring plain wooden panelling. No. 28 also has a dog-leg staircase and a box cornice in the first-floor front room, while other rooms were not inspected.
