Description

Numbers 75-87 (odd) and their attached railings are a row of early 19th-century terraced houses. They are built of yellow brick laid in a Flemish bond pattern, with stucco finishes. The roof is hidden behind a parapet. The houses are three storeys high, with a basement, and each has two windows. The basement and ground floor are stuccoed, and the ground floor is decorated with banded rustication. The entrance has a flat arch with pilasters, a low overlight with original glazing, and a panelled door of original design. All the windows are flat-arched, and the stucco finishes at a storey band. Windows on the first and second floors have gauged brick heads. The parapet has been rebuilt and rendered, and there are stacks within the party walls. The original design sashes remain in numbers 75 (second floor), 79-81, 83 (first and second floors), and 85. At number 77, parish boundary notices from 1845 and 1855 are located between the first-floor windows. The area is enclosed by cast-iron railings with spear-and-tassel finials.
