Description
The Boer War memorial is located at the corner of Highbury Fields, between Highbury Crescent and Highbury Place, and was completed in 1905 by Bertram Mackennal. The memorial features a granite plinth and a pedestal made of Portland stone, adorned with bronze plaques. The south cornice is decorated with bronze emblems of war, and above it stands a bronze statue of a female figure holding up a wreath. Flanking the memorial are two cast-iron cannons, which may not have been part of the original design.
