Description
Nos. 85-89 (odd) on Cloudesley Road are terraced houses built around 1830. They are constructed of yellow brick in Flemish bond and feature a roof that is obscured by a parapet. The buildings rise three storeys above a basement, with two windows on each level. The ground floor openings have heads made of gauged brick. There are steps leading up to a round-arched entrance, which has fluted quarter-columns in the doorcase for nos. 85 and 87. Both of these houses have decorative glazing in their fanlights, and no. 85 features a panelled door that is of original design. The ground-floor window is round-arched and has sashes that are also of original design. The first and second-floor windows have slightly cambered arches, with no. 85 again having sashes of original design. The buildings have a parapet and chimney stacks on the party walls. Additionally, there are cast-iron railings with spearhead finials leading to the steps and area for nos. 85 and 87.
