Description
This is an early to mid-19th century terrace of houses, numbered 1 to 45, Arlington Avenue, London. The terrace consists of identical houses, each with two storeys and a basement. The exterior is stock brick with a stucco frieze, cornice, and blocking course, along with banded rusticated details to the basement. Most of the sash windows retain their original glazing bars and feature cast iron ornamental guards; some windows are now blocked. The ground floor windows are flanked by pilasters with quasi-Composite capitals that support the fascia and cornice. Panelled stallrisers are located below the windows, and these now have modern glazing. The buildings are listed for their group value and form a group with the adjacent Rydon Arms Public House.
