Description
No. 69 Great Percy Street is a double-fronted villa located on a sloping street leading to Percy Circus. It was built around 1820 and is likely designed by William Chadwell Mylne, who was the Surveyor for the New River Estate. The building features stucco over brick with a rusticated ground floor. It has brick end stacks and a hipped roof covered with Welsh slate, complete with ridge tiles and projecting eaves.
The villa has a centre-hall entrance plan and stands two storeys tall with a three-window range, plus a one-storey extension to the left. The round-arched doorway has reeded jambs and a cornice-head, along with a patterned fanlight. The original panelled door has been recently replaced with a 20th-century door. The ground floor has 6/6 round-arched sash windows set in panelled recesses, while the first floor features 4/4 sash windows with margin lights above a raised stucco sill band.
