Description

This is a mid-18th century terrace of three storeys and a basement, comprising three houses. Each house originally had five windows. The building is constructed of brown brick with red brick dressings, including gauged flat arches over the windows, a first-floor string course, and a parapet cornice. The two leftmost bays of number 798 have been rebuilt above what was formerly a carriageway, while the two rightmost bays of number 800 have lost their original cornice. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, although some have been replaced. Number 798 features a modern door consisting of six fielded panels, surmounted by a plain rectangular fanlight, set within a modern Doric doorcase of flat pilasters and a pediment. Number 800 has a modern door with an entablature surround. Number 802 has a modern door set within an eared architrave, beneath a pedimented hood supported by brackets. Numbers 790 to 802 (even), along with the walls and railing to number 796, are considered to form a group of buildings of group value.
