Description
Barclay's Bank is a neo-classical building dated 1902, featuring three storeys and an attic. It has six windows, with a canted one-window angle to the three-window right return. The building is constructed of red brick with stone dressings. At intervals, rusticated pilaster strips support an entablature topped with a balustraded parapet. The high-pitched slate roof includes triple dormers with a central segmental pediment. The ground floor is banded rusticated stone and is arcaded, with moulded architraves around the openings. The first and second floor windows are set in vertical stone panels, and there are segmental shaped cornices above the first-floor windows. Small stone turrets flank the upper storeys of the angle bay.
