Description
Temple Lodge is a house from the early 19th century, built of brick but fronted in stucco and painted. It features a slate mansard roof and has two storeys with an attic, comprising three windows. The original sash windows are complemented by attic casements. The entrance door has six glass panels and a rectangular light above it, and there is a Doric porch supported by cast iron columns. The building also has a cornice and a parapet.
To the right of the main house is an attached studio, created around 1908 by the artist Frank Brangwyn. This studio is marked by full height pilasters that flank a central entrance with a tiled porch, and at the first floor level, there is a prominent 10-light studio window. Brangwyn used this studio to create some of his most significant works and to host distinguished international guests.
