Description
Nos 65 to 79 on Balls Pond Road, built in the early to mid-19th century, are a near-symmetrical two-storey building with nine bays. The structure features three- and four-bay sections on either side of a slightly projecting two-bay center, which is topped with a pediment and a large decorative patera. The exterior is finished in stucco and includes a frieze, cornice, and a blocking course. The ground floor showcases banded rustications that create voussoirs for the segment-headed windows and round arched doorways. The western and central doors have flat heads. On the first floor, the segment-headed windows are adorned with moulded architraves and rest on a cill band. Most windows are sashes with glazing bars, although a few have margin lights. Notably, Nos 73 and 75 feature added projecting bays, while No 77 has a patterned fanlight. This group of buildings is part of a larger ensemble that includes Nos 53 to 59.
