Description

These are three houses, numbers 36, 36A, and 37, located on Newington Green. They appear to date from the early 19th century, although there may be an older structure beneath. The houses are three storeys high and four bays wide, with the right-hand bay projecting and featuring blocked windows. The exterior is stock brick with a stone-coped parapet. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are set within stucco surrounds and have gauged flat brick arches above. Late 19th-century shops have been incorporated into the ground floor. These properties contribute to the group value of the surrounding buildings. Numbers 35 to 39 (inclusive), together with numbers 35A and 36A, form a group with the forecourt wall of the Unitarian Chapel.
