Description

Pountney Hill House is a late 19th-century building located at No. 6 Laurence Pountney Hill. It features a shallow canted facade with three bays, constructed from red brick and stone. The building has three main storeys above a basement, along with two dormer storeys. Narrow pilasters separate the bays, with stone pilasters on the ground floor adorned with arabesque designs and topped with winged angels holding cornucopiae, trumpets, and laurel wreaths. The ground floor windows have square heads with blind arches above, featuring radiating blocking. The first floor showcases round arched windows with decorated stone spandrels, while the second floor windows are framed by moulded brick apron panels. A stone cornice and brick blocking course sit above, topped with a wrought iron railing in front of a steep slated roof.
