Description
Rectory House, located at 9 Laurence Pountney Lane, is a building that likely dates from the late 17th century. It has four storeys, with the lowest level being partly a basement. The façade features three windows and is constructed of red brick, which is accented by storey-bands. The roof has a parapet made of yellow brick. The building has a simply pilastered shop front and a corniced entrance door. There is a long north return with an area leading to the basement. The 19th-century alterations include a hood over the central doorway, the enlargement of some widely spaced windows, and the addition of circular dormers to the slated, hipped roof.
