17, Trumpington Street

No 17 on Trumpington Street is an early 19th-century building that stands three storeys high with a basement. It is constructed from gault brick and features a slate roof. The façade includes a narrow stone cornice with a blocking course and four windows, each topped with flat rubbed brick arches and glazing bars. The entrance is located below the second window and is divided into three bays by panelled wood pilasters that support an entablature. Above the doorway, there is an ornamental metal fanlight set under a semi-elliptical arch. The central bay has a four-panelled door, with glazed upper panels in the side bays. In front of the basement area, there is an iron railing adorned with small vases on the main stanchions. The roof is not visible from the street. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 10 to 19 on the same street.
