10, Trumpington Street

No. 10 Trumpington Street is a building dating from around 1840. It stands three storeys high with a basement and is constructed of gault brick, topped with a slate roof. The façade features four windows with flat rubbed brick arches, and there are shutters on the ground and first floors, although the glazing bars are missing on the ground floor. The top floor windows are adorned with ornamental wrought iron guards. To the right, there is a round-headed doorway set in a recess that extends above the first-floor window, also with a round-headed arch. This doorway is accessed by a flight of stone steps, which has a wrought iron handrail supported by standards that hold up a metal roof. The building was refitted in the late 19th century, and the internal arrangements date from that time. Nos. 10 to 19 Trumpington Street form a group of buildings with shared historical significance.
