Description

Nos 115 and 117 Cannon Street is a mid-19th century commercial building that stands five storeys tall and features four bays. The structure is made of stone, incorporating black granite and red granite for the attached columns. The ground floor has shop fronts, with the right side showcasing fluted Corinthian pilasters. The first, second, and third floors have a trabeated design, with columns at each storey supporting simplified entablatures. Above the third floor, there is an elaborate entablature that breaks forward over the columns, adorned with a frieze featuring swags and a bracketed cornice. The fourth floor serves as a prominent attic, decorated with pilasters that display garlands of fruit and flowers, along with a frieze and cornice that includes blocking above.
