Description

Nos. 1 and 2 Mount Vernon are a pair of terraced houses dating from approximately 1800 to 1810. The houses are constructed of yellow stock brick, with a stucco sill band at first-floor level. They are three storeys high, each with a single window. Each house has a wooden doorcase; No. 1 features fluted details with enriched stops, a glazed frieze, and a cornice, while No. 2 has a diaper-enriched frieze and cornice. Both doorcases incorporate panelled doors. The windows are recessed sash windows with cambered brick arches. The angles of the houses are battered and coped, rising from just above the second-floor sill level to the coped parapet. The interiors were not inspected.
