Description

This is a terrace of fifteen houses, built around 1845. The building is located on the east side of Albert Street, Camden. The exterior is primarily yellow stock brick, although number 90 has been painted. The ground floors are rusticated stucco. Number 118 has a slate mansard roof with attic dormers. Several properties have been altered: numbers 98, 110-116 have penthouses added, and numbers 100-108 have an additional fourth storey. The houses are three storeys high and have basements. Most have two windows on each front elevation. The doorways have square, architraved surrounds with pilaster jambs that extend up to cornice heads, featuring fanlights and panelled doors. The windows are recessed sash windows; those at numbers 94-100 and 106 have margin glazing to the ground floor. The first and second floor windows are architraved, with console bracketed cornices and cast-iron balconies to the first floor. Stucco cornices and blocking courses have been added to numbers 90-96, with a cutback detail. The interiors were not inspected. Number 92 has a shaped fire insurance plaque inscribed “Royal”. Attached cast-iron railings with tasselled spearhead finials are present to the areas.
