Description
This is a terrace of three houses, built around 1840, located at the end of a row in Camden. Numbers 157 and 159 are constructed of stock brick with renewed parapets concealing slate roofs. Number 161 is rendered and features a mansard roof, which is not considered to be of particular architectural interest.
The houses are each one window wide, with entrances on the left side, and extend over three storeys plus a basement. They have small-pane glazing bar sash windows; those on numbers 157 and 159 are set within gauged brick heads, and those on number 157 also have margin lights. The ground floor windows of numbers 157 and 159 have round-arched openings containing panelled doors and top lights; number 159’s upper sash also has small-paned glazing and margin lights. Number 161 has a shopfront with moulded pilasters, narrow panes and a fascia with a dentil cornice. The interiors were not inspected.
All three houses have area railings, with thistle-head finials on those belonging to number 157.
