Description

This is a shop with living accommodation above, dating from around 1840. It is constructed of yellow stock brick with stucco dressings. The building has three storeys and two windows. The ground floor features a late 19th-century shopfront, notable for its console-bracket fascia stops and gilded brattishing. The upper floors have recessed sash windows; the first floor windows have console-bracketed cornices, while the second floor windows are set within gauged red brick flat arches. A parapet is present, finished with a simplified cornice. A projecting cast-iron clock and pawnbroker’s sign are also incorporated into the facade. The interior retains three sides of display cabinets, complete with glazed wall-mounted cupboards that are consistent with the shopfront's style. A Lincrusta ceiling is also present.
