Number 16 and Attached Railings and Lamp Holder

Number 16 is a terraced house, dating from circa 1720, which was substantially extended, raised, and refronted in the late 19th century. The house is constructed of yellow stock brick with red brick dressings, and stands four storeys high with two floors of basements. It has three windows. The round-arched doorway features a stucco keystone and impost blocks, a radial patterned fanlight, and a panelled door. Gauged red brick flat arches are above the recessed sash windows, with a stucco sill band marking the first floor. The building is topped with a parapet.

The interior retains numerous early 19th-century features. The basement includes a large tiled opening for a range and a cupboard with an H-hinge. A closed-string staircase with turned balusters and a ramped dado leads to a sub-basement containing a wine cellar. The staircase hall and front ground floor room are panelled with ovolo moulding and cornices, and have a 19th-century tiled floor in the hall. The rear ground floor room has a canted bay, fluted cornice, and dado. The first floor has panelling, shutters, early 19th-century cornices, and a late 18th-century fireplace. The rear room on this floor features a canted bay, cornice, panelling, and a circa 1830 fireplace. The second floor has panelling with simpler cornices, an early 18th-century fireplace with an early 19th-century grate in the front room, and an Edwardian fireplace to the rear. The third floor has simple panelling and 19th-century fireplaces. A stick baluster staircase rises to an early 20th-century attic.

Attached to the front are cast-iron railings featuring torch flambe finials and one side of an overthrow with a lamp-holder.
