Description
11 Church Row is a terraced house built in 1728 by R Hughes. It was refaced in the late 19th century in a Georgian style. The building features multi-coloured stock brick with red brick dressings, and it stands three storeys high with a basement. The façade has two windows and a round-arched doorway with a radial patterned fanlight and a panelled door located in a blank bay to the left of the windows. The windows are adorned with gauged red brick flat arches above recessed sashes, and there is a parapet at the top.
Inside, the layout is two rooms deep, narrowing sharply towards the rear, which has a single window and a ground floor sash supported on brackets. A central spiral staircase connects the floors. The basement includes an 18th-century cupboard. The ground-floor front room features a corner fireplace, while the first-floor front room retains its cornice, and the rear room has another corner fireplace. The second floor has plank and muntin screens and a bolection-moulded fireplace, and the attic is accessed through a plank door.
