Description

Maryon Hall (number 19) and Maryon House (number 21) are a detached house, originally built around 1793 and later divided into two residences. The house may have been built by T Pool and was converted in 1896 by Francis Tasker. Number 19 was subsequently altered in 1964 by John Brandon-Jones. The exterior is multi-coloured stock brick with a high slate mansard roof featuring pedimented dormers. It is two storeys with attics and a basement. Number 19 has two windows and Number 21 has two windows plus a slightly recessed one-window entrance bay. The entrance to Number 21 features a later 19th-century doorway with a segmental open pedimented canopy, sidelights, a fanlight, and a panelled door. The main entrance to Number 19 is on Chesterford Gardens and has a prostyle Doric portico and a later 19th-century altered doorway. Gauged brick flat arches frame the recessed sash windows and first-floor shutters. Number 19 has a canted bay window rising through the ground and first floors, while Number 21 has a canted bay window on its ground floor. A parapet tops the building. The interior has not been inspected.
