Description
Numbers 88 and 88A are a pair of semi-detached cottages built in the early 19th century, with later additions to the rear. The cottages are constructed of stucco and feature a slated hipped roof with projecting eaves. They stand two storeys tall and have five windows, along with a single window in a projecting bay to the right. Number 88 boasts an impressive entrance with an enriched console-bracketed hood, a panelled door, and a patterned fanlight with sidelights. Number 88A has a bracketed hood, an architraved doorway with a panelled door, and an overlight. Both cottages have architraved sash windows, although the window in the projecting bay on the ground floor of Number 88 is blind. The right-hand return features a full-height canted bay. The attached cast-iron railings, which have pineapple finials, are also notable features of the property. The interiors have not been inspected.
