Description
78 and 79 Highgate West Hill are two semi-detached houses that were originally built as one house in the late 18th century. They were altered and converted into two separate homes around 1870. The houses are constructed of red brick, featuring a plain brick band at the floor levels and below the eaves. They have a fishscale slate roof and carved bargeboards on the gables and dormers. The buildings are two storeys high with attics and include five windows along with a single-window garage extension.
No. 78 has a doorway with a 4-centred arch, while No. 79 features a cambered arch doorway, which is a later addition. Both doorways have boarded doors and gabled porches. The windows are recessed sashes with flat and cambered brick arches above them. The interiors have not been inspected.
