Description

Voel House is a detached house dating to the late 16th and early 17th century, with significant alterations and a refronting in the 18th century. The house is constructed of red brick, with multi-colour stock brick used for the 2nd-floor addition, and stucco covering the ground floor. The roof is slate.

The house is three storeys high and double-fronted, featuring three windows. A wooden doorcase with carved consoles, a pulvinated frieze, and a cornice frames the front door, which is protected by a narrow rectangular fanlight and panelled door. The windows have gauged red brick flat arches and flush sashes with exposed boxing. A 20th-century canted bay window with a penthouse roof is situated on the ground floor to the left of the entrance. A moulded brick band is present at 2nd-floor level, topped by a parapet.

The interior was not inspected but contains good original features, including an early 17th-century staircase.
