Description
80 Highgate West Hill is a detached house built in 1834 for William Cutbush, a nurseryman. The building is constructed of painted brick and features a fishscale and diamond slate roof with gables that have carved bargeboards. It has tall brick chimney-stacks and a 20th-century dormer. The house is two storeys high with an attic and has four windows, one of which is blind. The right-hand bay slightly projects and includes a canted bay window at the ground floor, topped with an architraved window and a penthouse roof. The entrance is located to the left and features a cambered arch with an overlight and a panelled door. The windows have cambered arches and recessed sashes. The interior has not been inspected. Historically, the house was built as a residence with a seed shop and office in the projecting bay, which originally had hoist doors above. It also featured a large pilastered conservatory shop to the right.
