Description
The North and South Lodges to Number 41 Witanhurst are large gatehouses built around 1929 by the Hon. J.A. Seely and P. Paget, with later additions from the late 20th century. They are constructed from multi-coloured stock brick and feature a hipped tiled roof. The buildings have a rectangular plan and include two segmental-arched vehicle entrances. They stand two storeys tall and have five windows. The design is in the William and Mary style, characterized by brick pilasters flanking the entrances and at the corners, which support an enriched brick cornice below the parapet. The segmental arches frame flush sash windows with exposed boxing. The left-hand return features a rendered canted bay with three lights that rises to the cornice level. Both blocks have single-storey extensions at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
