Description
Numbers 6, 7 and 8 are a group of three terraced houses built in the 18th century, with Number 8 having alterations from the early 19th century. They are constructed of multi-coloured stock brick, some of which is dyed red. The roofs are tiled, except for Number 8 which has a slate roof, and feature dormers. A brick band runs at the first-floor level, while stone sills are present at the first-floor level of Numbers 6 and 7. The houses are three storeys high with basements and attics, each featuring three windows. Recessed sash windows are topped with gauged flat arches. Parapets, stuccoed on Numbers 6 and 8, are accented by stone cornices below. A lead rainwater head is situated between Numbers 7 and 8.
Number 6 has a stone doorcase with a moulded architrave, a pulvinated frieze, and a plain cornice, topped by a fanlight above a fielded panelled door. The front railings have been removed. The interior, although uninspected, is noted to have an enriched cornice to the hall, a staircase with square balusters, iron newels, and a close string. Upper floors exhibit turned balusters and panelled newels, with some original panelled rooms present.
Number 7 also has a stone doorcase with a moulded architrave, pulvinated frieze, and plain cornice, a fanlight, and a fielded panelled door. The interior features a staircase with turned balusters, panelled newels, a good fireplace, panelled rooms and other original internal features.
Number 8 features a round-headed entrance with a modern, architraved doorway with rendered reveals, and first-floor casement windows with an early 19th-century cast-iron balcony. The interior, though uninspected, showcases a staircase with turned balusters and panelled newels, a good fireplace, some panelled rooms, and other internal features.
Attached cast-iron railings with urn finials are present to the areas of all three properties.
