Description
No. 106 Great Russell Street is a terraced house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations and a front added in the late 18th century. The building is constructed of yellow brick and features a slated roof with a three-light dormer. It has a parapet with a stucco band and stands three storeys tall with an attic. The façade includes two windows and an early 19th-century wooden shopfront, which is supported by pilasters and features an entablature with an egg-and-dart cornice, along with a slightly projecting shop window that has small panes. The house and shop doorways are square-headed and include fanlights; the house door is panelled while the shop door is partially glazed. There are gauged brick flat arches above the recessed sash windows. A Kupron bronze plaque on the first floor, designed in 1908 by C. Fitzroy Doll, commemorates the residence of Augustus Charles Pugin and August Welby Northmore Pugin. The interior has not been inspected.
