Description
Baptist church built in 1860-1861 by CG Searle. The front is made of Bath stone ashlar, with brick returns and a slated roof, designed in the Gothic style. The church has five bays and a symmetrical west front. It features a central traceried, pointed arch, five-light window above a pointed arch main entrance that has ball flower decoration. The gable includes dog tooth enrichment. At both corners, there are projecting buttressed towers with pointed arch entrances at the bases. The second stages of the towers are gabled with lancets on each face and lucarnes. The third stages have octagonal lanterns with gabled openings, topped by tall, slender two-stage spires. The returns of the building include two-light lancet windows. The interior has not been inspected.
