A row of 3 houses, originally one. Early C18 with C19 alterations. Timber-framed, faced in red brick with white brick dressings; old plaintiles to Nos 37 and 38, slates to No.39. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attics. The C19 red brick front has vertical bands of white brick, irregularly spaced; most outline doors and windows. 2 end chimneys in brick gable ends and one internal stack, all with plain rectangular red brick shafts. 4 sash windows with a single vertical glazing bar in flush cased frames to the upper storey and one similar single-light window; 4 similar but larger sash windows to the ground storey with segmental-arched heads to frames and surrounds. 3 dormers, those to Nos 37 and 38 gabled and to No.39 flat and lead covered, all with 2-light casement windows. 3 slightly recessed doors up steps with panelled architraves and triangular pediments supported on small shaped brackets. INTERIOR: there are no cellars. Beams inside mainly boxed; fireplaces modernised. In No.39, the upper beams have a small chamfer and curved stops.
