Description

The Garden House at Great Saxham Hall is a late 18th-century stucco folly located in the grounds of Great Saxham Hall. It is said to have been a Temple of Dido and is likely designed by Capability Brown, who oversaw the landscaping of the estate. The building features a Strawberry Hill Gothic style, with slender clustered columns and ogee crocketed arches that support a parapet. This parapet is pierced with simple arcading and topped with a pyramid at each of the eight corners. The structure is currently in poor condition, and it no longer has its original domed roof.
