Description

The Agent's and Head Gardener's Houses at Fornham Park, built around 1785 by James Wyatt for Sir Charles Kent, are two semi-detached houses made of gault brick. They feature parapeted hipped slate roofs and gault brick ridge stacks, standing two storeys tall. The facade facing the stable court is symmetrical, with projecting end bays. The central section has three 6/3 sash windows above two 6/6 sash windows, and a doorway to the right that has panelled double doors with glazed top panels and a diamond-paned overlight, all covered by a flat hood. The projecting ends include recessed rectangular brick panels on the first floor, with a blocked window on the left and a tripartite window on the right set within a blind arch. There are gault brick garden and yard walls at the right end and rear of the houses.

The interior of the Agent's house retains the upper part of the staircase and landing balustrade, which features stick balusters, along with panelled doors. This building is part of a significant group at Fornham Park.
