Description
Nether Hall is a Grade II listed building located on the common boundary of the parishes of Pakenham and Thurston. The building was previously listed on 15 November 1954 under Pakenham Road. An additional wing was added to Nether Hall in 1901 by the architect Philip Webb. The structure is two storeys high and constructed of red brick with pantiles and a string course. It features two internal chimney stacks with plain shafts and corbelled heads. There are six windows in total, consisting of two-light casements in flush frames with cambered heads, and three larger two-light casements on the upper storey, all with square leaded panes. At the rear, there are three gabled cross wings and a four-storey crenellated brick tower that houses water tanks. The main part of the house, dating from around 1600 and altered and enlarged in 1875, is listed under the parish of Thurston in the Mid Suffolk District.
