Description

The Old Farmhouse is a former home farm to Nether Hall, dating from the 15th and 16th centuries. It has an L-shaped plan and stands two storeys tall. The building is timber-framed, with all timbers exposed, and features plaintiled roofs. There are two internal chimney stacks: one on the extreme left and the other on the right, each with four barrel shafts on a high rectangular base. The windows are mid-20th century small-paned casements, and there are two blocked original mullioned windows on the left. The entrance includes a 20th-century door and porch. Inside, there is evidence of a former open hall, including a ground floor ceiling with moulded joists.
