Description
The Limes is a former farmhouse that later became a house and shop, and is now a house only. It dates from the 17th century, with the date 1677 inscribed on a recessed panel at the base of the chimney. The building has two storeys and attics, featuring a timber-framed structure that is plastered. The front slope of the roof is covered with black glazed pantiles, while the rear has a mix of black glazed and red clay pantiles.
Inside, there is an internal chimney stack with attached hexagonal shafts that have moulded bases. The exterior has four windows, which are 20th-century small-paned casements. There is also a 20th-century enclosed gabled porch that includes a six-panelled door with recessed panels. At the east end of the building, there is a projecting two-storey shop extension from the 19th century, which has a lean-to slate roof that connects to the main roof slope and features 20th-century replacement windows.
