Description
This is a brick boundary wall that extends north-eastwards from number 119 High Street in Newmarket. It dates from the 18th century and stands about 3 meters high and 45 meters long, serving to protect the garden of 119 High Street from The Terrace, which is adjacent to the High Street. The lower 2 meters of the wall is constructed from early 18th century red brick in an irregular Flemish bond, while the upper courses were added or rebuilt in a similar bond during the later 18th century or early 19th century. The top of the wall is weathered back to accommodate 20th century tile creasing and features a single brick-on-edge coping.
