Description
The Masonic Club, located at 115 High Street in Newmarket, is a clubhouse built in the mid-18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is a single-storey structure made of red brick, featuring a parapet and cornice crafted from both brick and limestone. The building has mid-18th century sash windows that are set beneath flat arches made of gauged brick, and these windows have small panes with thick glazing bars. The entrance door consists of six fielded panels and is framed by an architrave, leading to an open Doric porch that includes an entablature and pediment supported by a pair of columns. Additionally, there are 18th-century spear-head railings along part of the street frontage, which return to the front wall.
