Description
The Grosvenor Arms Public House is an 18th-century building with 19th-century alterations. It has two storeys and attics, featuring three windows. The exterior is made of painted brick, with a string course at the first floor and a parapet gable. The roof is plaintiled, with flat lead-roofed dormers and gable and axial chimneys made of red brick. The windows are sash style with segmental heads, although some have been replaced with 20th-century small-pane sashes. There is a splayed one-storey bay with a flat lead roof and small-pane sashes. To the left, there is an early 19th-century entrance doorway, which has fluted pilasters and an enriched Adam style entablature with a pediment, along with an oblong fanlight that has glazing bars and a 20th-century glazed panelled door. To the left of the main building, there is a taller two-storey block that is two windows wide and has a hipped plaintiled roof. This block was probably built as the kitchen wing for the adjoining Grosvenor House.
