Description

Nos. 28-31 Cannon Street is part of a terrace of small houses built in 1825. The houses are constructed of white brick and have slate roofs, standing two storeys tall. The façade features a four-window range with small-paned sash windows set in deep reveals. There are four panelled doors, each with plastered tympana, situated in semicircular-headed brick arches with plain reveals. On the east gable wall, there is a panel that reads 'CANNON PLACE Built 1825' along with the initials W.S., which stand for William Steggles, who was constructing similar terraces throughout Bury St Edmunds during this period. The interior has not been inspected.
