Description
The building known as the Mill occupied by A Kahn is an early 19th-century structure made of white brick, set back from the High Street. It has three storeys and features double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, arranged in pairs within tall openings that have semi-circular gauged brick arched heads. On the east side, there is a weatherboarded loft hoist, and a panel displays the initials JSG along with the date 1841. The roof is covered with slate. This mill is part of a group that includes Church Cottages, Chinnerys, premises occupied by Chris Bolden & Co, the George Hotel, Cosy Nook, Almore House, Corner Cottage, Cavendish House, The Rectory, premises occupied by W J Cutting, Spring View, Middle Cottage, Water View, Canford House, and St Ronans. Additionally, Church Cottage is grouped with the Church of St Mary and Church Farmhouse on Peacocks Road.
